Non-Standard Data Searches

WSBRC can also undertake data searches that differ from the standard search at the request of customers, although extra charges may apply. Examples are:

  • Non-statutory sites only
  • Protected species only
  • Distribution information for a specific species
  • A standard request plus additional non-notable species

Other Products & Services

Examples of these include:

Habitat Data

Habitat and land-use data derived from Phase 1, NVC and other field surveys, along with aerial photo interpretation is presently held for over 75% of the County. The data has been translated into the Integrated Habitat System (IHS) and is held on GIS. A map of all captured habitat data - or priority habitat types only - present within the specified search area can be provided.

Site Survey Information

Copies of detailed data for sites identified in the standard search, namely full site description including species and habitats present for a SSSI or County Wildlife Site where this information is available.

Habitat Interpretation

The WSBRC can also undertake Phase 1 style habitat interpretation from Aerial Photographs (presently dated 2005) to produce a habitat/land-use map of the search area. The WSBRC recommends mapping habitat data to IHS as this allows comparison between different types of survey data.
