Wasp Spider WWT/Purgle Linham

Spied a spider this autumn?

13 Nov 2009

This is the time of year that many people feel their house has been invaded by spiders.

Suddenly, they seem to pop up in obvious places, hanging around looking vaguely menacing.

Nothing much to fear from them though in this country, unless you’re a fly, woodlouse or other small invertebrate, that may have wandered too close to their carefully woven web trap.

This year seems to have favoured them and some observers suggest that numbers are generally up as a consequence of the mild, damp summer.
