Micromoth Reports

Wiltshire Microlepidoptera Report for 2009
The most notable feature of recording in 2009 was it’s unexpected nature. Weather conditions which are often stated, or accused, of having been particular spoke-in-the-wheel for recorders appear to have been of little importance throughout the year.

2008 Moth Report - Microlepidoptera
"I suspect most biological reports for 2008 will commence with comments on the weather vagaries we endured. Any change in the status of the majority of species can often be attributed to a variety of factors, some of which are clear cut in their effect, others less obvious. However, so dismal and overwhelming were the weather conditions during the year and the opportunity to undertake recording was so reduced, particularly with MV light, that it became impossible to judge the status of any species or any change thereof except in terms of the impact of inclement weather."
