Recent Sightings

We have upgraded our on-line recording system to Living Record.

Whilst we continue to learn about Living Record and it functionality the map of recent sightings is currently unavailable. It will be reinstated as soon as possible showing the large numbers of records that are being added to Living Record.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused whilst the recent sightings map is unavailable.

Submit records of your sightings and you could see your records posted here!

Take a look at our Wildlife Out Now section to find out all about the wildlife and places to see now.

Validation and verification - All records received by the WSBRC are checked before being placed online. Recording forms are checked to see that fields are filled in correctly, this is validation. Records are verified by checking the species in question against known occurrences and existing records.

* data may be withheld if the species is considered ‘sensitive’. Find out more information about protected species
