Grass Snake - Natrix natrix

Grass Snake in garden pond, Kate Brewin/ WWT

It was spotted swimming in a garden pond. "When I first saw it the whole of the body was visible but then it disappeared underwater. It popped it’s head up a couple of times from under the lily pads!"
